The ETDRS near vision chart developed at the University of Crete (Greece) contains Sloan letter optotypes,but is limited to characters appearing in both the Latin, Cyrillic and Greek alphabets. Thanks to this, it can be successfully used for eye examination in patients speaking Ukrainian or Russian.

The results are fully consistent with the results obtained on standard ETDRS tables.

The boards have 2 sides - on one side there are black optotypes on a white background (100% contrast), on the other side there are optotypes with a reduced contrast of 20%.
The table allows for examination from both 33 cm and 66 cm (separate scale).
